On Sunday, 13th of May, the International Boat Show Internautica 2012
closed its doors. During the past six days, this year's event was visited by approximately 16.000 people. Exhibition sites showcased programmes and presentations of around 150 exhibitors, with 100 exhibited vessels.
At www.internautica.net visitors were able to vote for Boat of Internautica 2012. The winners were revealed on Friday at the Exhibitors' Gala. Title of the year in the category Sport Motor Boats went to Cranchi Endurance 30. Among sailboats, the prestigious title was given to Elan Impression 394. The title »Boat of Internautica 2012« in the Motor Yachts category was awarded to Greenline 40, designed by Seaway. The award for the »Nautical Project of the Year« was given to two projects, namely two vessels of Slovenian Innovators, wFoil and Quadrofoil. At Friday's award ceremony, the organisers also awarded Bobič Yacht Interior for the most beautiful exhibition site of Internautica 2012.
Special honour was given to Marjan Matevljič, Executive Director of Internautica, for his effort in the development of the boat show.
Furthermore, the organisers also carried out the traditional Internautica Cup 2012 regatta. Four crews competed for the trophy and the results were the following: Damjan Vuk and his crew came fourth, Marjan Gorec and his crew came third, Jan Kobler and his crew occupied second place, while the winners were Tit Plevnik and his crew.
On Friday, Naval and Technical Education Centre organized a round table on the subject »Future Direction and Implementation of Resolution on Maritime Strategy of Republic of Slovenia«.
Saturday was marked by environment protection. The Foundation for Environmental Education DOVES - FEE Slovenia, which carries out internationally recognised and established environmental and educational programmes Eco-School, Blue Flag, Green Key and Young Reporters for the Environment, organised an exhibition of children's drawings "My planet is Eco-planet". Furthermore, they awarded the »Blue flag«, internationally recognised environment mark, to natural beaches and marinas. The event was followed by the traditional Blue Flag Raising in Marina Portorož.
A successful closure of this spring event gave the organisers new drive for quality organization of the autumn nautical event, which will take place between 13 and 16 September, also in Marina Portorož.
